Grinding Gear Games has officially unveiled Path of Exile 3.29: Curse of the Allflame, introducing a brand-new challenge league, fresh Transfigured Skills, quality-of-life improvements, unique item reworks, and a dark nautical theme centered around the mysterious Allflame.

Here's everything you need to know before the new league launches.

Curse of the Allflame Release Date

  • GGG Live Reveal: July 16
  • League Launch: July 24
  • Current Mirage League Ends: July 20

Players will have several days between the end of Mirage League and the launch of Curse of the Allflame to prepare their league starters.

A New Dark Nautical League

The teaser trailer introduces a mysterious ocean-themed storyline featuring ancient curses, ghostly ships, and the legendary Allflame. While much of the lore remains hidden, the expansion appears to focus heavily on corrupted maritime locations and forgotten powers beneath the sea.

The exact endgame league mechanic will be discovered by players once the league launches.

New Transfigured Skills

Grinding Gear Games revealed several new Transfigured Gems coming in 3.29, including:

  • Holy Hammers of Spirals – Creates spiraling hammers that consume Power Charges while offering excellent map clear.
  • Reap of Butchery – A new physical spell variant that builds Blood Charges for increased sustained damage.

Additional Transfigured Skills are expected alongside the full patch notes.

Quality of Life Improvements

Patch 3.29 also introduces several long-requested improvements:

  • Animate Guardian now has its own equipment window.
  • Guardian gear is preserved after death.
  • New in-game mechanic tooltips explain complex systems.
  • Less reliance on external wikis for gameplay information.

These changes should make several builds significantly more enjoyable, especially minion characters.

Unique Item Changes

One of the first confirmed item updates is a rework to Tidebreaker, which now scales additional elemental damage through the new Brine Charge mechanic.

Grinding Gear Games has confirmed more balance changes will arrive in the complete patch notes before launch.

Mirage League Is Ending

The Mirage League will not become a core mechanic in Path of Exile 3.29.

However, several features introduced during Mirage will remain in the core game, including:

  • Exceptional Support Gems
  • Astrolabes
  • Various quality-of-life additions

Players should finish any remaining Mirage challenges before July 20.

What This Means for League Starters

Since the full balance manifesto and patch notes introduce major meta shifts every expansion, players should avoid committing too early to highly specialized builds.

Flexible league starters remain the safest option until the complete balance changes are available.

Summary

  • New Challenge League: Curse of the Allflame
  • Launches July 24
  • Dark nautical league theme
  • New Transfigured Skills
  • Animate Guardian improvements
  • New mechanic tooltips
  • Tidebreaker unique rework
  • Mirage League concludes July 20
